FAQ

Whether you’re new to physical therapy or just new to this kind of care, this FAQ page covers the most common questions I get from clients in Saint Clair Shores and the Detroit Metro area. From questions about services to how out-of-network care works, you’ll find clear, straightforward answers below.

How do out-of-network PT benefits work?

I will collect payment for your appointment. Afterwards, I will provide you with a receipt that includes the treatment codes of what we did during the appointment, called a super-bill. You can then submit that receipt to your insurance company to be reimbursed for your insurance company’s out-of-network physical therapy rate. Each insurance company is different, but you can call them and ask about your plan’s out-of-network physical therapy benefits.

Not currently, I am looking into different options, though!

Yes. Instead of focusing on one area of pain or injury, we will incorporate full body wellness to maintain your strength and prevent falls. These wellness appointments are not covered by Medicare, so the full cost falls on the client with no option for reimbursement.

Not at first! Michigan allows you to see a physical therapist for 3 weeks before needing a doctor’s prescription.

If you are coming to see me for physical therapy, you will leave your initial evaluation appointment with a plan of care and number of visits to achieve your goals. Manual therapy visits are available to assist you whenever you may need!

Yes! I offer recovery sessions for anyone looking for just the hands-on work that can include dry needling, cupping, scraping (instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization, Hawk Grips, Graston), joint mobilization, joint manipulation, muscle energy techniques, manual traction, and massage.

Parking is available in the lot behind the building at 21420 Harper Ave. When you are facing the building from the parking lot, the door on the right will take you into Mission Metabolic Health. The door on the left will take you into the hallway that will lead to my studio. When you arrive, I ask that you text me so I can greet you at the door to avoid any confusion!

Here is where we are starting with! I have a private studio space at 21420 Harper Ave. I share gym space with the lovely folks at Mission Metabolic Health. There is plenty of space for us not to be in each other’s way! Just because you don’t see a piece of equipment in these pictures doesn’t mean we don’t have it, I will be continuing to build on what we have available.

Someone who is NOT afraid of needles, allergic to metal, had a recent infection, pregnant, or in active cancer treatment. There are a few other considerations that we will discuss, but most anyone can benefit from dry needling with low likelihood of potential adverse events.

Someone who does NOT have an open wound, fractured bone, dislocated joint, or a bleeding disorder. Someone who is okay with possible bruising in the area to be cupped.

Someone who does NOT have an infection, myositis ossificans, or infection or fracture in area to be treated.
